Overview

The n8n Business Plan for Startups is a discounted subscription tier offering early-stage startups access to the full capabilities of the n8n Business Plan at a significantly reduced price. It is an entirely self-service process via the self-hosted version of n8n.

  • Deployment type: Self-hosted only
    (Managed cloud deployment is not included. See n8n Cloud Plans for hosted options)

  • Eligibility term: Valid for 1 year or until ineligible

What’s Included

  • Unlimited workflows, steps, and users

  • 40,000 executions per month (480,000 per year)

  • Scales as your usage grows

  • Full access to Business Plan features:

    • Single Sign-On (SSO)

    • Git-based version control

    • Up to 6 shared projects

    • Support for multiple environments

    • Use of global variables

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, your startup must meet both of the following:

  • Fewer than 20 employees

  • Less than €5 million in total funding

You can retain access to the plan for up to 1 year, or until these criteria are no longer met, whichever is longer.

Billing and Cancellation

  • Pay monthly or annually by credit card

  • Cancel any time on a monthly plan

  • Manage or update your subscription in your n8n instance under Settings > Usage and Plan > Manage Plan

  1. Visit https://n8n.io/pricing/startup-plan/

  2. Complete the sign-up process

  3. Receive your license key by email

  4. Activate it in your n8n instance at Settings > Usage and Plan

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I activate my startup discount license?

  • Sign up at https://n8n.io/pricing/startup-plan/

  • After subscribing, you'll receive a license key

  • Go to your n8n instance and open Settings > Usage and Plan

  • Enter your license key to unlock all Business Plan features

How do I cancel my discounted Business Plan?

  1. Open your n8n instance

  2. Navigate to Settings > Usage and Plan

  3. Make sure your license is entered and active

  4. Click the Manage Plan button

  5. Follow the prompts to cancel from the Business Plan section


Error: “Activation Failed: Activation key has already been used on this instance”

This usually means another license is already active.

  1. Open your terminal and run:

    n8n license:clear

  2. Retry activating the new license key
